Script
Let’s play two truths and a lie. 1. You’re watching this video. 2. My name is Saira and 3. You’re subscribed to this channel---- okay so maybe those were all true… BUT if they weren’t-- let’s make it happen! Scroll down and hit that subscribe button, then continue watching for more on how to make others tell the truth.
SAICOLOGY INTRO
Same Side
You wanna act like you’re friends so they can open up to you. Sometimes a little empathy is enough to get someone to open up. You also want to alleviate the threat of any consequences they may face.
Ego
You can also boost peoples ego to help ease them into telling the truth.
Threes
You can also ask the same question three different ways in order to see if story is repeated a little too exactly-- like it was rehearsed or if they trip up.
Intentional Wrongs
Another classic way is to start telling them what happened and get facts wrong, and then they may jump into correct you, thus blowing their cover. Alternatively, you can ask them about things that didn’t happen and see what they say--- “So how’d you like the book?” “It was great!” “Yeah, what about the part with the monkey?” “Loved it.” “HA! There was no monkey.”
Silence
Silence. Especially awkward silence, can get people to talk. :)
So Help Me Jesus
Reminders of God, religion, the 10 commandments, the cross sign, anything like that, EVEN if a person is not religious, will make them feel more obligated to tell the truth and act in a moral way.
Get Dirty
If someone is dirty, physically-- like covered in mud, food, etc, they will be more compelled to come clean, literally.
Big Brother is Watching
Finally, imaging of eyes will make people more honest. Whether it be a poster, a TV screen with someone looking directly at the camera, or a real person, having an image of an eye looking at you will compel you to be more honest and ethical.
Today was a quick little episode on ways to make people tell the truth, make sure you subscribe for next week’s episode on making your dreams come true--- AND it’s the Sai-Cology Finale. I know. So sad. While you wait, check out past episodes in the cards and more cool psychology resources and sources in the links below. Like and comment down below your thoughts and times you made people tell the truth. See you next time and remember, to behave yourself.
